Since summers are here, it is essential that our foundation mustn’t look oily or cakey. So today I am reviewing the foundation by L.A. Colors. It is a matte foundation. Matte products are ideal products during summers. I ordered the wrong shade :(. Anyway, I will provide my honest review of the foundation. I have the shade Porcelain. Choice of 14 shades is available.
Packaging of L.A Colors Truly matte long wearing high pigment foundation:
It comes in a see-through packaging, with a pump applicator, it does not come with a box. For this price range, the pump applicator is of good quality, you can pour the exact quantity which you require. It also has got a plastic cap, to cover the applicator. I think this foundation is going to last for a pretty long time.
Price of L.A Colors foundation:
Rs. 575 for 40 ml of product.
List of ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Dimethicone, Isododecane, Decamethylcyclopentasiloxane, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Silica, PEG-8 Dimethicone, Sodium Chloride, Methylparaben, Propylparaben. May contain Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499) Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891).
This foundation contains paraben. So it might be not suitable for people having skin allergies and other skin-related issues.
This is how the L.A. Colors foundation looks on my skin:
What is my opinion on L.A. Colors truly matte foundation?
I got this product online. Actually, I had a chat with a customer care executive and she suggested this particular shade i.e. CLM351 Porcelain. Unfortunately, she suggested a shade which was very light to my complexion. Basically, it does not match my skin tone. Since I opened the foundation, to try it on, as per the policy they do not accept the exchange after the product is opened, which is correct for hygiene purposes.
I feel it is too “white” for my skin tone. I mix and match with other foundations and use it. If I want to use it individually I just use it as a concealer, it does the job pretty well of concealing blemishes. Also at times, I just take a drop of it and apply all over my face, so that it does not look too white on my skin. This I usually do on a daily basis, when I go to the office, I apply minimum foundation, they say “less is more”, I follow the same principle for work. I usually apply a drop of foundation and pressed powder or else bb cream and powder.
- The packaging of the product is quite sturdy, the pump applicator is of very good quality when you pump it pumps out the exact quantity that you desire.
- Blends well.
- Travel-friendly packaging.
- The price factor can be considered, quite on the reasonable side considering the quantity.
- Dries into a perfect matte finish.
- Recommended shade during summers, when skin becomes oily.
- Give a good result with minimum quantity.
- Decent product for the price paid.
- If you are mostly into online shopping like me, then choosing the right shade could be a little tricky.
- I’m quite not sure whether to mention it as a con, it dries too quickly after application, so you need to be very quick with the blending.
I would recommend this foundation for those who are desiring perfect matte finish, but again I would say choose the correct shade. Since a range of 14 shades is available, you need to get the one that suits your skin tone, else it does not look good. I would advise, first try out the shade and then later buy accordingly.
