Charcoal masks are trending these days. So today I am reviewing the peel off mask by the famous MOND’SUB. With rise in pollution, the dirt and other impurities get accumulated on the surface of the skin and they also sink in, in the pores of the skin. The face wash cannot do the job alone of removing the impurities from the pores. So activated charcoal does the job well. It removes the dirt, impurities, excess oils thus making the skin appear fair and clear.
I received this product in one of the subscription boxes, I’m in love with this so much so I thought of writing a detailed review about the same. This MOND’SUB Peeling off, black mask can be used by both men as well as women.
It retails for Rs. 1000, for 100ml of the product. It is slightly over priced, but since I got in on of the most affordable subscription box, it is justified.
I got it in THIS subscription box.
It comes in a black carton box with a tube packaging inside. It has got a flip cap, which is tight and secure. The directions for use, ingredient list, manufacturing, cautions, claims of the products and other details are mentioned on the box as well as on the tube.
The consistency is that of toothpaste, nice and thick, so the application becomes quite easy and not messy.
Claims of the Peel off mask:
Usually the peel off mask claims for removing the impurities and also the black ends and the white heads. This mask also claims for having Whitening & Rejuvenating System.
Directions for use:
1) Cleanse your face before, to open the pores.
2) Apply the mask all over your face, avoiding contact with your eyes, hair. (because while peeling it off, it pains alot).
3) It takes around 20 to 30 minutes for the mask to dry completely.
4) After drying , peel off the mask slowly, and rinse your face with water.
Effect, Caution, Ingredients and other details:
The Charcoal mask is said to have volcanic mud and charcoal powder which can rapidly penetrate into the bottom of the skin pores. Also it is said to have Arbutin extract, which prevents Melanin precipitation and keeps the skin whiter. It is said that excess production of melanin in the skin can cause hyper pigmentation. The production of melanin should be balanced.

What is my opinion about the mask?
Usually I use charcoal mask only near my nose area. I was reluctant in using it for my entire face. But then gave a second thought. Gave a try on my entire face. I knew it would be a little painful as I have a facial hair. As expected , while peeling the mask off, it was painful. As it pulled off the tiny-tiny facial hair. Presence of facial hair, also makes a person appear a little darker or the skin appears dull. After peeling of the mask, it made my face look bright and radiant. The product is advisable to use only 3 times a week. Following is a quick summary of the pros and cons.
- It removes all the dirt particles and impurities, thus imparting a fair glow on the skin.
- It removes the blackhead and white very effectively from the nose area.
- It removes the fine facial hair.
- Due to its toothpaste like consistency, it is easy to apply.
- Easy to peel off.
- Could be a pricey affair , if you go to buy individually.
- Peeling the mask off is damn painful.
Great product, along with the black heads it gets rid of the facial hair as well. Definitely a thumbs up from my side.
